Pics of the new Manitou on the line.

#1 Post by Bryden24shp » Sun Mar 13, 2016 12:19 pm

Here are a few pictures of the new Manitou being built. It was finished up on Friday, but I haven't gotten the final pics, yet. It was shrink wrapped and set outside, and waiting for delivery. Leaving for Michigan tomorrow to see the guys at Manitou and get ready for another exciting endeavor with them. Hope I can slice the shrink wrap open enough to peek inside at it, before its loaded on the semi. The trailer came in Thursday, I got it home yesterday and put a coat of Sharkhide on it. After it cures I'll coat the top of the tongue and fenders with PlastiDip to prevent scratches and add a non skid surface to them. When it starts to get ratty, just peel it off and re-apply.
Been working lots of OT at the plant so I have been away from here from awhile. As a matter of fact I'm working OT, nights this weekend. I'll get off at 0500, sleep a few hours and take my 7 hour drive to Lansing. Whew! Lots going on!
Hope everyone is doing ok, The Premier is still for sale. I need to update my EzFender blog on Denise. Last cancer check up turned out A-OK, she is doing good. Hope it keeps going in that direction, and hope everyone here does good, too!
Anyway... Here are some pics of the new boat and trailer. More will come as I get them. I'll take as many pics as I can while I'm at the factory. Enjoy... Bryan

Going back to that picture where you're looking at the stern...those "clips" that are welded to the aft end of the pontoons - I'm guessing they're lifting hooks?

My question is, if you were going to tow a large inflatable, e.g. the five-person "Jumbo Dog," are those clips strong enough to hold the tow harness for something like that?

I'm hesitant about using the ski tow bar for something so big with presumably so much drag.

New poster, btw. Recent Manitou buyer.

Ryan, use the tow bar, it will handle it! Its high and will keep a lot of the rope out of the water when taking off. It will not break! I'm getting the aluminum "foldable" wake tower on this one. Lets see some pics of your Manny, Ryan! I'm going to talk about a "Manitou Owners" Facebook page or website at my meeting tomorrow. Would you be interested?
Bob, yes, that is the the most important news of all. She is doing FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks Buddy!

Bryan - Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely give the ski and two bar a pretty good test with kids on the tube. But I don't think it's strong enough to handle the stresses of this:

The thing is huge. We've used it with rental boats (I/O V-hulls) with a harness clipped to the eyelets on the hull.

Sure, I'd be interested in your FB discussion.

I haven't yet taken delivery of the boat.
