So far 52 at 6200 RPM's, she's on the limiter. That's with a 15 1/4 X17 pitch Salt Water Series prop. I have a new 19 on it for todays run. I have to log 4 more break in hours on it before I can really push it. So I'm heading out early to put some time on it, then.... Hammer down!
That is nice.
Mike, thanks for the good wishes on the Enertia. Do you still have your 15?
I just tweaked the trim on the boat today slightly lighter but got up to 27.6 and 5200 RPM sustained. I left it on the hole five, shallow as she can go. I think the Enertia 14 might work out well. The current propeller is a slightly dinged 15x15 Powertech. Ken at Propgods describes it as a "price point" prop. I think that's a nice way of saying it is pretty, but junk. The numbers today that's 11% slip on the PowerTech, which isn't too bad.
All the mechanics I've talked to have said you want the new Merc 4-Stroke 2.1 liters (75, 90, & 115) above 5500 to get the efficiency and HP. I'm hoping the 14 pitch Enertia puts me there.
BTW getting the motor height to where it is, as shallow as it can run, got me from 22.4 to 27.6. I did underskin, but that's probably 1 to 1.5 MPH at most; I measured it as best I could. So over all MPH up 5.2 MPH, 23.2%. I'll take it. If I can get to 30 MPH, I'll be satisfied. Wife doesn't want it to go any faster, she afraid I'll hurt the grandkids tubing.
