They like bigger diameter props. See if you can run a Rebel, I think you'll both be very impressed!
so do you think the 15 3/8 x 18 rebel will give me a little more top end and keep my rpm's around 5900 to 6000?
thanks for your prop wisdom!

dealer has a 15 3/8 x 18 rebel coming I will try it this coming weekend!
I have the same motor as you except mine is a 2014. It came with a 19 pitch viper which worked well. I wanted something that would give a little more gas mileage. Take a look at Solas Rubex L3. Same prop as the rebel. They may even make the Rebel props for Evinrude, I have been told this by a dealer. I think it was Bryden24shp that helped me get mine pitched correctly. I'm thinking 15 1/4 x 19 or maybe even 15 1/8 x 20. Just a note, mine porpoise also at top end. Just trim back a tad. Good luck

Rhorne did your boat porpoise with just the viper prop, the Solas or both? I'm anxious to hear back results from bigfoot. Bryden24shp what prop are ya running on the new yamaha? It's prob. a bit heavier with the arch, but I'm thinking an 18p rebel might not be enough.

This boat weighs in at about 4000 lbs with the Sport Arch and the Yammie. I'm running a 15 1/4 X 19 Salt Water Series II, right now. I have and am testing the new 25" transom, with the motor mounted in the 2nd hole down, but I'm dropping it the the lowest setting again, It ventilates on hard turns, since raising it. I'm running 5800 rpm's at 51 mph. You guys probably have the 20" transoms. Measure from the top of the transom, down to find out. I found the the 2nd hole from the top, to be the best on the 20" transoms. This new 25" is going to be the platform for the twin engine hulls next year. Cool stuff coming! I also porpoise at WOT, its normal for the SHP, I drop the trim a tad. It can be eliminated with spoilers and tabs, but thats alot of work and will void your warranty. I did this on my 2007 Xplode, with Manitou, back in 2008. We made a stock 48mph boat run 65, with a 26 Raker II. FUN RIDE!!!

I have run a Viper 19 pitch, Raker 21 Pitch, Tempest Plus 21 Pitch, Power Tech OFS4 17 pitch and the Solas Rubex in a 21 Pitch. I think it would porpoise with all of them but the OFS, but it would only get about 48 mph. The best prop for mine has been the Solas Rubex, It is a 15 inch diameter and a 21 Pitch. We have taken trips with 8 passengers and equipment and it did a very good job. The best top end I have gotten so far is about 54 mph.
