Boat Alarm

#1 Post by Slow Movin Outlaw » Sun Jul 10, 2016 10:56 pm

I have searched the forum for this topic with nothing relevant found. I am aware of the boat specific wireless 12v security systems, I found a few on Google. I am curious if anyone is using an alarm currently and how it has worked out for ya. There is no rod storage on my pontoon, so it is either pack em out every night or trust in the good nature of people not to steal a fisherman's stuff. I've lost hope on the good nature part...Any other ideas on security while overnight at the marina or in a parking lot would be welcome also.

SMO

I have been using a portable motion alarm for years on my boat. Works great on just a 9V battery that lasts the whole summer. Makes an extremely high pitch sound that would scare off any thief.

I also use these rod racks to easily transport my poles on and off the boat.

I have a little red wagon with rod holders on it from Wal-Mart.

Has room for the cooler, etc and tackle box.

I paid $10 for it at a yard sale.

Like the idea of a motion alarm.

It couldn't hurt.
