Hi all...new to the tooning world and have a question. I've searched already, but could only find outdated replies. Anyway, here goes. I have a 23' Coach Tritoon, with Honda VTEC 150. I think I have a solas 3 blade now, not sure of pitch, or specific model. With a full tank of gas (54 gallons), and 4 peeps on board, I can get around 36 (at 5000 rpm - WOT) which I'm totally pleased with.
From what I've read, I'd be better off with a 4 blade for better hole shot. I'm ok with loosing a few mph on top end, if I can gain a decent hole shot, for skiing.
Thanks in advance for any wise input!

Hole shot will improve as pitch is decreased.

Re: Best prop for hole shot?
Just purchase the next pitch lower prop than your main prop, it WILL over rev with a light load but really helps with "popping" skiers. My main is a 13 7/8 x 17p stainless (solas) and my water sports prop is a 13 3/4 x 15p aluminum 4 blade (solas) The stainless 17 runs ~38mph @ 6200 and the aluminum 4 blade runs 34-35 bumping the 6450 rev limit. Both props have similar grip on the water but the 4 blade aluminum definitely has more "pop"
