Also, you could do what I did, and put the trex decking boards over top of your regular bunk boards. I did this to mine (waited until Menards had clearance on a color nobody liked) because the carpet kept getting ripped from the logs sticking to the damn carpet. My trex bunk boards help prevent the sticking so bad, and after 2 years, no wear as I can tell.

Re: PVC boards bunk covers
In an attempt to cover all the bases, (or maybe just to be half-assed) I've used Caliber wrap on one side of the bunks and PVC slides on the other. Got the Caliber on sale at Walmart.com and the boards from Ebay. This coupled with the nifty 4-C Innovations guide system has made my trailering ramp dance a thing of beauty.

Re: PVC boards bunk covers
I needed to replace the bunks (among other things) on my trailer. I thought about using trex or another composite but felt they were too flexible.
My solution was new 2x lumber and the extruded plastic trim boards by Azek .. here are a couple of pics:http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Frank ... ort=3&o=30

Excellent, especially since both bare P/T wood, or carpet when used in salt water, will seriously corrode aluminum!
