Do you have a lot of heavy stuff under the front seats? If it is pushing down on the bow trim up and that should lift it some I was told a 2 loggerwith a 115 will only go about 30 so 23 doesn't sound that basically have a 20 with triple toons strakes and a 150 and can get about 39 with 3 adults 2 kids and 2 coolers my front end sits high and doesn't push I think that is the diff strakes might be a lower cost add to increase speed.

JUST A THOUGHT!! The Merc I have is a short shaft, does every pontoon run short shaft? Im I crazy to think I should have installed a long shaft motor???
watch your mouth!!! i have a 24 starcraft with a 60 short shaft 14.75x13 and shell do 17 with 10 adults. 23 with just me.

that seems like an awful shallow pitch prop for a 90 on a 20

as far as the nose diving, need some more info.

I'd say that speed is right with only a 10 pitch prop. I'm surprised you aren't over revving the motor. I wonder if your tach is reading right. I bet you pick up some speed by going to a 13 pitch. Maybe even a 15 if you can figure out why its nose heavy.

Read my sig for my setup--I hit 30 gps early this spring by myself---now in the summer I get 28 by myself, 26 with me and the wife.

Will be 100 degrees tomorrow- I may run it and see if the air density affect the speed---even tho I am fuel injected---it seems to run faster in cooler weather.

Water temp on Lake Livingston is around 93-94 now--air temps near 100...I'm only getting 26 now but i have about 40 lbs of anchors in front of the console and a 55lb thrust trolling motor on the front. I had the trolling motor before when I was hitting 29-30 in the winter . May be the conditions--summerwise.

Thanks guys Please Keep em coming

I was out today with 3 adults and 4 young kids. Adults in back, half tank of gas and same story NO Speed. Sounds like some of you are suggesting I should get 25MPH (GPS)? I thihnk I would be happy with that speed.

1 Roadking: Front seats carry life jackets and thats about it (no real weight up front)

Bass Freqency: What prop do "you" suggest and what additional info can I offer on the nose diving? Ill do my best.

If I can get 2 or 3 of you to agree on a different prop, Ill head out tomorrow and buy it!

Otherwise any suggestions on what the boat is worth? Im thinking sell the boat and keep the motor for another.

I cant thank you guys enoughfor your suggestions. Hopefully we can solve the problem so I dont have to sell it
Thank you !

i would think on a 20' with a 90hp, a 13 or 15p would be ideal

Just for comparison, I hae a 20 footer with a 75 horse 4 stroke.. under optimum conditions, two people on board, glass smooth lake, I get right at 25 mph...checked it last weekend with alittle bit of chop in the lake and at wot I was getting 23 mph via gps.

Hi, I have a 2009 Strarcraft CR RE. Only difference is that mine is 24' with 90 etec (2 stroke).

I do about 23 with normal load (factory everything, no mods).

I don't consider my boat front heavy as it sikts fairly even in the water.

I'm running a 13 1/4 prop with a 16" pitch and am right at the rev limiter at WOT 5800rpm--I am toying with maybe adding a little pitch or maybe a cup when I have my prop worked on next--it is a stainless prop.

Seems that's a common number for 22" with a 90 4S and that's what I get.
You should be getting a few MPH more, say around 26 - 27.
Your WOT RPM seems right, but you could try a different prop.
Hey Beem--long time no hear! Send us some of that cool air! 104 according to weather.com on Lake Livingston Tx yesterday. Unbearably hot. Water temps are 92-94 deg.
