I had the same problem on my Southbay. The stain would appear when I had the boat covered, and if you left it uncovered for a few days in the sun, it would go away. It then got to the point where it would not go away. It was sticky in the beginning too. It looks like the vinyl is breaking down. It surprises me because our boat is always covered.

Covering your boat with a playpen/mooring cover helps to keep the rain off as well as dirt and the many "gifts" that birds leave for you.pontchartraintoon wrote:I had the same problem on my Southbay. That said, the cover can actually trap in moisture and under the right conditions can actually promote mold growth. I generally advise that customers wipe down their seats before covering everything, this will lower the overall humidity inside the tent. Unfortunately this doesn't remove the water vapor if it's naturally humid where you are. In this case I suggest a solar-powered playpen cover fan. You'd install it in the cover to move air around, drying it faster.
Finally I've seen that carpet floor covering (versus vinyl) is perhaps the biggest culprit in grabbing and keeping water inside that tent. I don't actively sell carpet, I only do so if the customer has seen the state of the traded-in boats after a few years, understands the difference and the effects of carpet.
