Whatever you use, make sure you use plenty of scope.

Chain- use a length of chain to keep it set.

I finally used a chain this past year and I couldn't believe the difference it makes. I was just using a river style on a muddy bottom, the chain and proper scope makes the holding power triple by my estimation.

Sometimes if it's real windy I'll set an anchor when fishing, but usually I just drift. Last time I was fishing in wind the anchor just dragged on the bottom anyway. I pulled it up so I didn't disturb any turtle grass.
I found a redneck solution that may actually work for your situation, and maybe Greg's too....

Thanks a pretty good idea. Thanks for the tip. Might have to give it a try.

Ron if you do this, go to an electrical supply and get 2 sticks of 1 1/2" schedule 80 nonmetallic rigid conduit and 2 2" couplers. That is heavy duty PVC pipe that is UV protected.
