Boat names...

#1 Post by rbiederwolf » Sun Jan 29, 2012 7:16 pm

Just thought it would be cool to start a thread about the name of your pontoon Boat and any story behind it.

The name of our boat is "Waste Some Time"

Named it after a Colt Ford song. If you are not familiar with him he is a newer country artist. Writes songs with Brantley Gilbert for artist like Jason Aldean.

I find the older I get (46 years young/wifey 40) the more I am pulled to getting away from the stress of keeping up with the Jones's. Now in South East Florida that ain't always easy. Bigger houses, fancier cars, more bling... the list goes on and on. It use to be fun, and mind you part of me still enjoys it, but now I find family time and good friends and getting back to the simple pleasaures is what it is all about. Sorry if this sounds sappy

Thus I named the boat after a song that I think embodies what it is all about,

Check out the video here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtYqvSoUOTc

BTW my wife says I am becoming more and more of a redneck everyday, the funny thing is that the girl from New jersey is too. Ain't life grand!!!!!!!!

Oh and by the way you got to watch the entire video to understand the true meaning

"The Butt Ugly"

A name actually coined at the check in desk of Tween Waters Inn in Captive where this picture was taken when they asked us the name of our boat.

Well I haven't actually named my boat but if I did it would be my name on the site " Liquid Asset " I guess. I almost went is half on a 28' go fast boat with my brother about 10 years ago. Thats what we were going to name it. I know it doesn't really fit a toon but I still like the name. We also liked " puddle jumper " but never had a boat to name. That would fit my boat better since it lives on a trailer and goes lake to lake but I am still partial to the liquid asset.

I built a Cruiser many years ago and my skill level and time available where limited not mention my budget. All I could say in most cases was “Well that will do for now” then on to the next project. My so called friends presented me with my name board the day I launched and it said in big letters
“The Doofernow”
Our current boat is named “Sighs Matters” :ten
The funniest name on a boat I have ever seen was down in Florida sitting in a cabana bar at a marina surrounded by yachts anchored out and there sat a 6’ dingy and down the side is “Roe versus Wade” :happy :happy :happy

ours is named The Looney Toon...... no real reason for it, just what the wife picked out and I didn't really care one way or the other.. I know we gravitated toward names that had the word "toon" in them, like tuned out, or toon-tang ( my wife said NO to that one.. go figure ) Actually toon tang was my favorite... but NOOOOOoooooooo..... one of the best names that I've seen that struck my fancy was " liquid asset" To me that just seems perfect for a boat.....

Thin Ice, this is off the subject but how much differance did that 115 make as far as speed,& handeling, did you have to add hyd or power steering? I am thinking of going to a 115 on my 22ft toon.

This has been bothering me for a while because I know it's bad luck not to name your boat, but I can't decide between...

My boat's name is Dutch for "The Spotted Cow."

Our ancestors came to the U.S. from Holland in 1600 on a sailing ship by that name.

After a couple of months we have come up with a couple of names we like. Since it is a tracker with aluminum floor we like "Never Wood" or sometimes with age comes a "Reverse Mortgage"
