annnooothhheeerrr.....BBQ grill thread.
So I am trying to buy me a new grill but I cannot decide which way to go. I want one that is out of the way my last grill if it was not placed on the rails the only place I could put it was in the floor and it was a pain. I dont know to go BMR Magma Grill route, Homemade route again, or Wildman route and store it away when not in use.
There has been alot of new members since Ive had my last boat so maybe I can get some pics of some ideas. I want something that I can take down easily and store away, or something that is secure enough I can put up before I go and not have to worry about it.
Ideas??

How hard is that to take down while on the water....how sturdy is it....the sandbar can get pretty rocky at times

Re: annnooothhheeerrr.....BBQ grill thread.
Easy to set up, easy to take down, and very stable it would take some very rough water to knock it loose I would even say if it was that rough I wouldn't be on the water at all.

Saw yours in another thread the other day and really liked it. The extra shelf space around the grill would be nice to hold a flipper, BBQ sauce, frozen burgers, etc. and it can be easily removed and washed. Price is right too and it's awesome that it doesn't limit you to a particular grill that has the proper mount. One little mod I think I'd do is carefully bend the sides of the shelf up to keep mustard bottles and whatnot from falling into the drink.
How did you mount it to the fence though? Screws going into the rails? That would be my biggest psychological challenge. I'm terrified of commitment, especially drilling permanent holes...

That's the other grill I was liking. My boat came from the factory with a Springfield table and that same screw-in floor mount. The mount is remarkably low and works well.

How does that Springfield grill mount? It says no need to cut holes in the floor. I guess you just drill holes and screw that mount down, is that right? So, you are not cutting holes, but still drilling holes, right?

No drilling, I got some stainless wood screws from Lowes, and used a cordless drill with a phillips bit, it took about 5 min.woolznaz wrote:How does that Springfield grill mount? There is a small cup that attaches to the bottom of the grill it catches the all grease I havent had any problem with it dripping on the deck.

I haven't mounted it yet, but in going with a permanent rail mounted magma kettle grill and I am going to have a sumbrella bag made to put over it when not in use. I am sure its just me but I am tired of putting things up and down.

Re: annnooothhheeerrr.....BBQ grill thread.
Fashoned this one up myself, about a $35 grill (that I got for nothing), stole the top off one of the wifes TV tables and attached the mounting rails to the table. The grill comes on and off the table by 2 screws (or 4 but not required). The table is attached to the door rail by 2 U-bolts. I really like this grill because it is all aluminum and heavy duty, you can't buy the cheapo's like this anymore, now they're extremely cheap, I can't believe this one was the price they were, the top and bottom of it will last forever.
Very little dripping, mostly because I keep foil on the inside bottom for easy cleanup a couple times a summer. But as you see, any dripes go overboard!
I have to give SteveStormy (pretty sure it was him) credit for alot of this setup, he had a setup real similar, I added a couple features to it.
