Hey guys! I'm still moving along here slowly but slowly. I ordered material for my railings this week. Should get it all by the end of the week and I'm planning to make some major headway this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me weather-wise.

Dunno if anyone knows about these guys. I've decided to go with polished aluminum diamond plate for the fence material. Had a bear of a time finding it in a gauge that was suitable for that purpose. These guys had it. It is 17ga aluminum or .045". The thinnest I found it elsewhere was 1/16" or .063". It's good for aesthetic stuff just like this.

If youre looking for some material to do a dress up project, for me, nothing beats shiny metal. Plus the aluminum stays purty for quite a while. I've used it on some other projects.

Just thought I'd share. I'll post some pictures after this weekend with (hopefully) all of my progress.

You know, that's the beauty of it. I thought it was very reasonable. A 2' x 10' is only $59 in the 17 ga. I'm changing out every panel on the boat for less than $400. I figure for what I'm getting that's pretty good. I'm no painter so I didn't like the prospect of having my project look like I painted it with a rattle can ('cause that's what I would have used). And the insert material that they sell really didn't trip my trigger.

My neighbors are giving me a hard time saying you won't be able to see me with all of the glare from the sun coming off the aluminum. We'll see. (or not, as the case may be)
