I've been here 20 years, that's happened once or twice. I can live with that. :rofl

That was the way I saw it. I really didn't mind snow as bad as "sleet and freezing rain". There is nothing good to say about it.

I prefer a place where water never freezes unless it is going to go in a glass.

As usual from the size of the "projected" path it looks like the whole country needs to get ready.

Born and raised in South Florida. Before Andrew, you didn't know a storm was coming until it was upon you. Now they have most people terrified for weeks in advance. I am all for being prepared, but the media has gone way overboard on their storm tracking and scare tactics. The real winners are Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes etc.

I'll take a hurricane anyday, versus tornadoes, floods, fires, mudslides.....

As long as your house is fairly well built and maintained, generally there are few problems from the wind. Most things damaged are screen enclosures, wood fences landscape etc. Andrew exposed how poorly homes were being built in South Florida. Usually the biggest causes of concern are flooding of homes in low lying areas from severe rain, and prolonged power outages.

These days most of the larger stores and gas stations have back up generators, and are open the next day even without power. Additionally there has been a big push to put utilities under ground so they are not wind affected.
If you ain't got the the blues, you got a hole in your soul...

Y'all is singular.

All Y'all is plural.

Even us folks in Colorado know THAT. :rofl

Y'all is used when talking too a small group or an individual. All y'all is used when talking to a large group. If Romney was doing a campaign speech. He would say "All y'all need to tell King O to eat shit and die!

Whoda thunk it? The largest sex-change clinic in the US, if not in the world, is in Trinidad Colorado? What? How do you suppose THAT came to pass? It's beyond my reconing. :?

And about 130 or so miles north of Trinidad, we have the headquarters for "Focus on the Family" and several other Christian organizations, in Colorado Springs. I tellya, we're all over the spectrum here! We're even glad that Oklahoma exists!!! If it weren't for that little Oklahoma panhandle, Texas would TOUCH Colorado.

I'm not a Colorado native, but the Admiral is, and Colorado natives, in general really, really don't like Texicans!

If Romney really wants to walk the walk he says we are honoring our commitment to the city of Tampa, the convention will go on, we won't need any help from FEMA, our corporate sponsors will handle any emergency we have and I am diverting campaign funds to disaster relief.
That would mean more to the citizens of Florida than another round of robo calls and stupid commercials.

Last year we stayed at a nice hi-rise in Navarre and got the dirty side of tropical storm Lee. It wasn't pretty even as far away as we were from its landfall. Some big furniture blew off the upper stories and slammed our truck just enough for some insurance coverage to kick in. Others had more damage from that little storm that hit central Louisiana. We had plans to be there again next week but who knows??
