Add-on double bimini (after market?)

#1 Post by CajunCoach23 » Mon Jul 18, 2016 6:03 am

Hi.

We have a Coach 23c with the single bimini and would like to "add" the additional front bimini. The dealer only sells the double as a complete unit and would not give any credit for accepting the single bimini.

Question to the group - do you have any knowledge of attaching a single front bimini to an existing rear single bimini?

To be honest there is no real need to connect the 2nd bimini to the first. I'm very happy with the 2nd top that I got for our toon from www.topmastermarine.com I simply adjusted the angle so that one top overlaps the other by a little bit. We can open the 2nd top in just moments or close it as weather/sun dictate....

Very easily done. I did it and had no problem.

Thanks for reply but which top are you referring to...the previous poster?

Try searching past threads on the subject such as this one viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20841&hilit=bimini

Having the two tops connected will most likely require a visit to a local shop to alter them so as to zip together.

Keep in mind how you intend to use; if you insist on having the 2 tops connected you may not be able to use one or the other as conditions my dictate. As I have 2 separate tops I can open or close which ever one I so choose.

Another factor is cost and what your willing to spend, a 2nd top can be added for 4 to 5 hundred while a full double can be well double in price....
