On my PWC's, the boots "screw" into the wires. I've never paid any attention to my outboard wires.

Most plug wires DONT come out of the coil any more. Most plug boots thread into the plug wire. Look up inside the plug boot and see if it looks like a screw up in there. It most likely does. If so snip just the split part off the end of your wire, slip it into the boot and twist the boot as if you were tightening a screw. Should be good as new. If the boot is not threaded, which I would be VERY surprised, then go to a motorcycle shop, buy one that is and do as I described above.

Old guy learns something. The last I screwed with marine plug wires they were solid "good" stainless wire (316) with crimped on ends.

here is my jerry rig from 2 years ago... It was a little different the end burnt (shorted) off and I used a wire terminal to finish the day.
