There is a chance to salvage the relationship with your friends.....it is possible to have water going vessels that do not have reverse and maybe they were mistaken or you mis-heard them. For example:katieclooney wrote:My friends are jerks lol
They said that not all toons have the reverse function
yes they are

This has a 84 40hp Johnson. They are just jerks!BobL wrote:There is a chance to salvage the relationship with your friends.....it is possible to have water going vessels that do not have reverse and maybe they were mistaken or you mis-heard them. #1 - Jet skis do not have reverse. Some models have a lid of sorts that when deployed, will re-direct the jet force.
#2 - Air boats do not have reverse.
#3 - several "mud" motors (used in hunting situations) do not have a reverse as they do not have a transmission.
#4 - some ocean going vessels do not have reverse, instead they have pods that turn the entire prop unit
So it is possible to have a pontoon boat outfitted with either a jet ski engine or an air boat engine or a mud motor which would let your friends off the hook.
Of course, you could have a regular inboard/outboard or outboard engine on a pontoon boat that is broken and will only go into forward (or reverse).
There are other possibilities (though slight) that could allow you and your friends to be correct but in all likelihood, they are jerks.
It is correct that Pontoon Boats do not have a Reverse function. Because Pontoon Owners are More Intelligent, Pontoon Boats are equipped with a "Negative Forward Velocity" mode, which works in a superior fashion.
