I wondered if we'd really need to buy the locking mechanism for our Lowrance HDS-8.
We did.
It's still there.

I don't know how anybody can keep fish finders, rods and reels, tackle and expensive sound systems on their boats.
They've got the price of alarms down to a reasonable level, however.
I rode past a huge boathouse on my PWC last week with a 45' Sea Ray in it, and I set off an alarm.
